Writer / Director
Sasha Hadden
Sasha made his first film when he was 12 and won several national student film awards. He worked as an editor for Fairchild Audio Visual before attending the Australian Film TV & Radio School, making the 4th film in the history of the school to make a profit. His award-winning short film A FEW SMALL DRAMAS opened the 1994 Chicago International Children’s Film Festival, winning Best Live Action Short Film and the Children’s Jury Prize at the 1995 ATOM Awards. He produced other short films that have screened internationally as well as wrote and directed a stage play called THE MOTH & THE FIREFLY. After premiering his documentary VICKY - THE GAY GENE COMES TO AUSTRALIA at their prestigious international film festival, the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras engaged Sasha to make a film that became critical in winning WORLD PRIDE 2023 for Sydney. A STITCH IN TIME is Sasha’s debut feature drama. The film was inspired by Zhang Yimou’s powerful sense of community and Bruce Beresford’s DRIVING MISS DAISY. |
